World Suicide Prevention Day
Today, on World Suicide Prevention Day, we pause for reflection, and for a promise.
At Rentstart, we see the silent struggles that young adults in our community face every day. Too many people aged 18 to 30 are living through homelessness, poor mental health, substance misuse, and involvement with the criminal justice system. These challenges can feel overwhelming, and tragically, for some, they lead to thoughts of ending their life.
That is why today we are proud to announce we have joined with The Hope Hub, Guildford Action, Oakleaf, and a wide network of dedicated professionals to launch a new initiative offering intensive, joined-up support for the young adults who need it most.
This project is about more than just services. It is about walking side by side with young people, one-to-one, helping them rebuild stability, rediscover hope, and take steps toward a future they can believe in. From GPs to mental health services, from substance misuse providers to probation teams, we are ensuring support is not fragmented, but consistent, personal, and truly tailored to each individual.
Crucially, this work is shaped by the voices of young people themselves, their lived experience guides us, grounds us, and reminds us of what truly makes support meaningful.
On this World Suicide Prevention Day, we also want to send a message to our wider community: suicide prevention is not the task of professionals alone. It is about all of us, choosing to create a culture where conversations about mental health are open, stigma is dismantled, and no one is left to struggle alone.
We are proud of this partnership. But more than anything, we are hopeful. Hope is what carries us forward, and what we aim to share with every young person we meet.
Together, we can bring connection, life-saving support, and brighter possibilities. Please follow our journey, share our message, and help us raise awareness, because every life matters.
