Ruth’s Rentstart volunteering experiences

With all the enforced time spent at home over the past year, we’ve been fortunate to find some new volunteers who can spare some time to support Rentstart in different ways - and we’d love to welcome some more, as there is plenty to do!

“While on furlough from work, with a lot of spare time, it's been great to get involved with Rentstart. They are an innovative local charity in Surrey, supporting people who are homeless or vulnerably housed by providing housing and helping them move on in their lives.”

Ruth had been on our mailing list for a little while prior to getting involved. It was wonderful to see her connect her abilities to our work:

“I'm using my marketing and strategy skills, to help plan activities to thank and engage supporters and raise funds - alongside the charity's staff, who are busy responding to evolving circumstances and a growing need. It's great to contribute to a fun and friendly team, and to feel I'm achieving something with my time.”

It has been such a valuable fit for our team, many of whom have been extremely busy. Ruth’s skills have made it possible for us to keep thriving in areas of our work which could have otherwise been overlooked; and importantly, she has had a positive, enriching experience by being involved.

“I would recommend volunteering with Rentstart to anyone who is in need of some occupation and inspiration - and there are lots of small and flexible ways to get involved.”

Would you like to work out how you might be able to support our work through volunteering? We have an online introductory session coming up that we’d love to meet new people at: www.rentstartvolunteers.eventbrite.co.uk.*

*Please note, the date for this event has now passed. If you’d like to get involved in the work we do at Rentstart click here to find out more.
